4 Second Chance Stars! ★★★★

NOTE TO READER: DO NOT read this review if you haven’t read books one and two of The Bad Boys trilogy. There will be some major spoilers for the first two books. Okay... carry on :D

Don’t let the past dictate your future. Move on.
I wasn’t sure how much I would like this book... lets face it, Marissa was not a likable character in the first two books. Olivia’s older, spoiled, rich an downright mean cousin. Marissa has had something happen to her. Something big. And it’s really changed her. At first, I was worried this change wasn’t genuine, but rest assured, it was. Marissa knows she doesn’t deserve a second chance from Olivia, but she’s glad she is given one.
I don’t deserve a second chance. I don’t deserve anybody’s trust or confidence.
Then there is Nash Davenport. The ‘real’ Nash. The one thats been in hiding the last seven years after he witnessed his mothers death. While his brother Cash was left living a double life, Nash was off doing unspeakable things. Things he had to do for himself, for his family, for his survival. The things Nash has done, the things he’s seen, they have changed him. He’s not the same Nash he was.
I guess Nash really did die the day of the explosion. The guy he was and the guy he would’ve grown to be are dead. Both of them. Gone forever. The question is: Who am I? Who rose to take their place?
Marissa and Nash have this connection, this pull to one another. They both need something to take away the feeling of all they’ve been through, to numb it out. They can give that to each other. Nash is game, as long as it’s just sex. He is in no position to give anyone anything else.

Okay... so the first two books had body shots and Jack Daniels... this book, it had the BEER BOTTLE. You just have to read to understand ;) Nash and Marissa bring the heat. Damn...
“I’d be willing to bet all your parts are exceptional. In fact, now might be a good time to warn you that if we come back to this library, I’ll find out for myself. In this very spot. I’ll push you up against the books in the corner and I’ll put my hands on you. I’ll do things to you. In the quiet. And you won’t be able to make a sound. Not a whimper, not a moan. You’ll have to bite your lip to keep it all inside. And you know what? You’ll love every second of it.”

“I want you to beg me,” I hiss through gritted teeth. “Beg me to put my cock in you and come inside your wet body. Beg me or I’ll walk right out that door.”
Marissa has feelings for Nash. Sex isn’t the only thing she wants from him. Marissa is the first woman in seven years Nash has thought twice about. But he can’t go there. As much as he wants her, he knows he would be no good for her. They both need each other. But are either able to admit it? On top of all the relationship issues, Nash and Cash are closer than ever to getting justice for their father. You’ll have to read to see how this one pans out....

Everyone deserves a second chance. You’re no different.

I was pleasantly surprised with how much I grew to like Marissa in this book. She was sweet, genuine and personable. I just kept waiting and waiting for her to go back to her bitchy ways, but it never happened. It was nice to see. Nash was bitter. He held on to the resentment he carried for all those years most of the book. It took him much longer to let go and move one. Both of them need redemption. Healing. If they can heal and move on together, that is the real question.

It wouldn’t be a Bad Boys novel with out a little twist, a secret... and the one Nash is hiding from Marissa is something else! I really enjoy this series. The first book was fantastic and so original, the second and third were good as well. I’m not sure if I loved this quite as much as the first two, but it was still an enjoyable read. This series is full of twists, turns, action, suspense, secrets, sex and steam! It was great to catch up with Olivia and Cash, and I especially enjoyed the last 10% or so of the book and the epilogue.

~Some of my favorite quotes~
“I’m not taking a chance. I feel like I can’t breathe without you. I’m just doing what I need to do to survive. It’s as simple as that.”
“Then let me be your air,”

I want to get closer, close enough to feel the heat. The problem is, close enough to feel the heat usually means close enough to get burned.

“There comes a time in life when every man meets the woman who changes the game, who changes him. You’re the one.”

“The best part of my is you. The only part that matters is the one you have, the one you hold in the palm of your hand.”

Read information about the author

Ebook Bedingungslos read Online! New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author, M. Leighton, is a native of Ohio. She relocated to the warmer climates of the South, where she can be near the water all summer and miss the snow all winter. Possessed of an overactive imagination from early in her childhood, Michelle finally found an acceptable outlet for her fantastical visions: literary fiction. Having written over a dozen novels, these days Michelle enjoys letting her mind wander to more romantic settings with sexy Southern guys, much like the one she married and the ones you'll find in her latest books. When her thoughts aren't roaming in that direction, she'll be riding wild horses, skiing the slopes of Aspen or scuba diving with a hot rock star, all without leaving the cozy comfort of her office.

About Michelle: I love coffee and chocolate, even more so when they are combined. I'm convinced that one day they could be the basis for world peace. I also love the color red and am seriously considering dying my hair.
